This is the mug that sits on the desk of every analyst in the department. It has seen late nights. It has seen line movements that defied explanation. It has held coffee, tea, and on one documented occasion, something the Forecasting Directorate brought back from Vladivostok that Le Council has since classified as "not technically a beverage."

The enamel is durable. The print is sublimated, which means it is in the coating, not on it—like a well-embedded statistical bias. The rim is silver because O.D.D.S. is funded by Le Council and Le Council approves of restraint.

This mug is hand-wash only. Le Council understands that this is inconvenient. Le Council also understands that putting a mug through a dishwasher is the thermal equivalent of playing at The Red Furnace, and The Desk cannot guarantee what survives The Furnace.
